About DONNA
I first trained as a Beauty Therapist in 2002 ...
A few years after leaving school and feeling the pressure to secure a 'proper' job as a P.A I finally decided I'd had enough of office walls and computer screens and wanted to pursue a career in beauty. This was the route I knew I wanted to take when I was freed from school and ready to take on the world of work but as silly as it sounds now I thought that being the 'girly' girl I was and a complete pamper / beauty product junkie (as many teenage girls are) that those around me would see it as an easy option - I mean why wouldn't I want a convenient excuse to buy every lotion and potion on the market and sit and paint nails all day??!! As every Beauty Therapist I know will tell you, this expectation couldn't be further from reality! There are things I have done in my various roles as a therapist that are definitely more 'personal' than my job as a Personal Assistant! However, as it turns out, choosing to work in the ever-changing / never-a-dull-moment / mostly unglamourous giant glitter bubble we call beauty and aesthetics was the BEST decision I ever made!
I have grown and evolved as a therapist over the years. After starting out learning the staple beauty treatments - nails, waxing and facials I have since dived into the worlds of semi permanent make up and aesthetics. I am incredibly proud to have completed the in depth training courses that are required to be able to deliver these type of procedures safely and to the highest standard. The transformations that I have achieved through my work have taken my job satisfaction levels to a new level!
Having worked in Spa's, Salon's, Clinic's and travelling to all manner of locations over the years I now truly appreciate being able to work from the beautiful clinic attached to my house and I love the flexibility that it gives me when it comes to working as much as I do around my little family. As well as being a calm, sterile and professional environment for my clients the treatment clinic is also my sanctuary ... somewhere away from the main house with not so much as a lego brick in sight! I really do have the best of both worlds, being around for my children whilst they are young ... but I'm also not ashamed to admit I enjoy escaping to the clinic, knowing they are safely out the way and looked after!
Whether it be to create some beautiful eyebrows, lips or to banish those wrinkles ... your therapy really is my therapy too! Another reason that I love setting my own rules is that after being on the other side of the 'one in, one out' pressured environments of some establishments I know that this most definitely does not contribute to a positive client experience! As all of my existing clients know, I take being a perfectionist to the extreme! (the struggles of being a Virgo)... so rest assured I would've allowed plenty of time to make sure that I can give you 100% and that the end result is something I'm proud of!
