A question asked by many of my client's is "Which treatment do you most enjoy doing?" I find that question easy to answer ... Microblading and Semi Permanent Make Up encompasses everything I love about my job - building a relationship with my clients and creating something with great attention to detail that I'm proud of and can be life-changing for them. I value and appreciate the fact that my client's are putting their trust in me with something they won't be able to wipe away or hide from the world when they walk out the door and as a result nothing beats the feeling I get when I see them smile in the mirror as they first look at their new brows or lips.
Microblading
Many women realise the importance of a perfectly formed and defined eyebrow shape and how when correctly designed, good brows can take years off your appearance. This popular treatment involves delicately implanting specialist pigment into the dermal layer of the skin to create beautiful, natural looking hairstrokes which will last between 10 to 15 months before needing a re-touch. Microblading can fill out sparse or over-plucked eyebrows, inserting hairstrokes where they once were. Hairstrokes can also be added to change the shape of the natural brows, making them more symmetrical or creating a beautifully defined arch. For clients with little or no eyebrow hair microblading is more than just a cosmetic procedure - it can lift their confidence, allowing them to ditch the pencils and save time drawing them on everyday.
For perfect healed results microblading is best suited to non oily skin types and those with younger, healthy skin without sun damage.
Powder / Ombre
'Powder Brows' involves the use of a high spec digital machine to implant pigment into the skin. A technique is used to give a soft dusting of colour throughout the brow which once healed will give the effect of wearing brow pencil/powder. This gives the brow a more 'filled in' look as opposed to microblading which gives the look of a natural, make-up free brow. Powder brows will look bold and dark immediately after the procedure but will fade between 30-50% throughout the healing process, giving a much softer result. The machine can also be used to give an ombre effect, fading the inner brow and giving more definition towards the tail. Powder brows will last between 12-18 months before needing a colour boost.
Combination
The ultimate brow treatment, offering the best of both 'powdered' and 'hairstroke' effects combined together to achieve a beautifully natural yet defined brow. The inner brow is feathered with hair strokes while the tails are powdered to achieve the perfect definition! Combination brows are suitable for all skin types with results lasting between 12-18 months before needing a colour restoration
Lip Blush
Lip Blush treatment enhances the natural shape of your lips, giving them a fuller look, added symmetry and colour. Lip Blush gives your lips the appearance of having more volume, with results that last up to 18 months. It is an extremely popular semi-permanent make up treatment and will restore colour to lips that have lost natural pigment and shape definition either with age or as a result of repeated dermal filler treatments. The chosen contour colour is blended into the middle of the lip to create the illusion of a fuller pout. Naturally pale, thin or uneven lips can instantly be given a dramatic new appearance. Pigments are available in a variety of shades to enhance the client's natural lip colour, lip scars can also be camouflaged. Lip Blush is perfect for clients who are unsure about fillers but still want naturally enhanced, fuller lips without the need to apply make up every day.
Creating PERFECTION
When clients come to me for semi permanent make up procedures there is never a time limit! We'll work together in the early stages, with you explaining the look you'd like and what you're hoping to achieve. I'll then measure, correct the symmetry of your natural brows or lips if needed and then draw on the shape that I feel will meet your requirements and be best suited to your facial features and shape. I'll then show you and we can tweak/adjust the shape until your hearts content as my heart won't be content until I know you're 100% happy to go ahead!
Next we'll talk colour! I'll offer my advice on the shade that will best suit your skin tone and how it will look once healed. I usually suggest we opt for a shade lighter than the colour you might eventually want your brows to be as we can darken the colour during your 6 week top up appointment if required.
A topical anaesthetic is applied in advance of the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible, it's not uncommon for client's to fall asleep and wake up to beautiful new eyebrows!
Semi permanent make up procedures are a two-step process and true results will not be seen until after the required top up session six weeks later. This second appointment is a great opportunity for us to re-evaluate the treatment, making any necessary adjustments to the shape and to balance out the colour ... ensuring the final results are perfect!
Aftercare and Healing
I will talk you through every stage of the healing process and explain how to look after your new brows or lips. I'll also provide you with an aftercare sheet explaining all the healing phases and the 'do's and dont's' to ensure you get the best results from your treatment. Your main responsibilities are to keep the area clean, apply the aftercare cream I give you morning and night and most importantly not to rub or pick the treatment area as it lightly scabs over or becomes dry. Freshly finished semi permanent make up will appear bolder and darker than it will eventually be once fully healed, when the pigment softens into the skin. Once the healing of the skin starts taking place the area will look dry and flaky ... you may feel like the colour is coming away but this is just superficial colour and your body naturally removing dry skin. The colour will be at it's lightest during days 5-12 when the pigment is absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin. Later, skin cells push the pigment back to the upper layers but there can be some unevenness in colour which will be rectified at the top up appointment.
